So, I finally ditched my WOW [World of Warcraft] and WAR [Warhammer Online] accounts. I wasn't playing them anymore anyway.
WOW was too much of a min-max nightmare to keep up with. Plus, if you didn't have exactly the right gear (as dictated to you by whatever random site knows all) you were shunned in any of the end-game content.
WAR had great PvP (Errrr, RvR?), but not enough of my friends were into it, and once you level capped fairly quickly, it all became about the Keep/City taking and defending. Fun for a while, but not enough to keep me roped in.
I started playing LotRO [Lord of the Rings Online] last week, and it's not too bad. The crafting system is maserfully done, and it seems like there's enough going on to keep me interested for awhile (though there's waaaaay too much running around for my taste). I've only got a few friends playing there too, so once they start to filter out, I'm sure I will too. But for now, it's a good spot to hang out.
And that brings me to the future. This is all in an effort to kill time until the new SW:TOR [Star Wars: The Old Republic] MMO hits this fall (we hope). It looks good, it's by the guys who did KotOR which was awesome, and I'm sure all of my friends will jump right in. That being said, lets hope it's not as buggy as WAR was when that first dropped. I liked being in from the onset, but having to suffer through the aches and growing pains of a startup MMO is no fun at all. Play for three hours, patch for two, wash, rinse and repeat.
So, that's my update. Nothing of interest here. Just remembered I had a blog, and thought I'd use it. See you in another 3 months or so?

Top 5 x 2
Here's a couple of quick top five lists. Again, no specific order, and they're just my opinion, so shut up already.
Top 5 Most Fun Athletes to Watch (In the last 20 years)
1- Brett Favre: Who didn't love watching him play? Even when the team was going downhill, he always managed to make something happen that made you go 'How the hell did he do that?'
2- Shaquille O'Neal: He's funny, always speaks his mind, and was one helluva great player when healthy. 'Nuff said.
3- Charles Barkley: The Round Mound of Rebound was one of my favorite players growing up. (I damn near cried watching the Bulls beat them in the finals in '93) Even now that he's just announcing, he's still hilarious, and will always tell you what he really thinks.
4- John Daly: Golf's baddest bad boy. He was great fun to watch whether he was drilling a 330 yard drive dead-center, or pulling a tin cup, and scoring a quintuple bogey, just to prove a point.
5- Andre Agassi: The guy always put everything he had into his game, and he left it all out on the court. I actually liked him more as his career was winding to a close, because he was still that guy who could just destroy someone from out of nowhere. And he did it all with a smile.
Honorable Mention: Dwyane Wade & Randy Johnson
Top 5 Most Polarizing Athletes (In the last 20 years)
1- Kobe Bryant: The rape charges made him the most hated player in the NBA, while still one of the most beloved. And buying his way out of it didn't help. God, I hate that douchebag.
2- Jeff Gordon: Nascar fans either loved him, or hated him. I was an Earnhardt guy, so I hated him. Still do.
3- Alex Rodriguez: 25 Million a year was reason enough for people to hate him. He's one of the best players in MLB history, but the combination of his salary, his repeated vanishing acts in October, and the recent steroid charges makes him easy to dislike.
4- Barry Bonds: Baseball's all-time home runs leader, he's such a dick to the media, and everyone around him, it's hard to like the guy at all. That being said, I don't really care if he did use steroids. Hell, apparently so did everyone else.
5- Roger Clemens: He was a baseball god for the majority of his career, though not always liked by his peers. Since the steroids allegations, and subsequent hearings, he's slid straight into turdsville. I still love the player, but the man kinda sucks.
Honorable Mention: TO, Bill Belicheck & Curt Schilling

Top Ten, here we come.
I've always been a fan of top ten lists. Everybody has an opinion, and no one is ever exactly quite perfect, but they spark a lot of arguments. Who doesn't like arguments?
So, in the spirit of posting my own preferences, and ignoring anyone else's input, here's the first of what I hope will be many top ten lists to come. Be forewarned, this just means they're in my top ten, but not necessarily in the order in which they appear. (I reserve the right to change my mind at any time, and for any reason. Even if it is just to irritate you.)
Top Ten : Current TV Series (Network & Basic Cable only)
1- Leverage - Great characters, make this good-guy turned good/bad-guy show a hit.
2- Chuck - Soooooo funny, especially for the 20's/30's geek crowd.
3- House - He's smart, he's interesting, and he's an ass. The perfect role model.
4- Bones - I've liked David Boreanaz since his days on Angel, and he's just as good (if not better) here.
5- Burn Notice - Finally, a show that let's Bruce Campbell be funny, and gives Gabrielle Anwar a character worth watching.
6- Top Chef - You sit there watching the drama, imagining that you could do it too. You're wrong.
7- Lie to Me - I assume the novelty will wear off (like Numbers did) but for now it's plenty fun. Plus, Tim Roth is a great character.
8- Family Guy - Yes, it's stupid, sophomoric humor. But they do it so well.
9- Psych - Silly, and rather odd humor, but the characters make it worthwhile.
10- Eureka - One of the most interesting shows I've seen in years. It goes from witty banter to Twin Peaks'esque oddity as smoothly, and quickly, as you could hope. Love it!
So, there you have it. My choices, not yours. Argue if you want, disagree if you must, but know that I'm probably not listening.

Back again
Well, it's been over two (mostly uneventful, for me at least) months, and I've decided to drop some wisdom yet again. Well, maybe not wisdom. I seem to be lacking in that area lately.
So, what's a blog really for anyway? From what I've read in the past, I'm apparently supposed to find some earth-shattering topic, and spend page after page blasting away with my own personal views. Oh, and be sure to include plenty of profanity, and name-calling.
Ummm... I don't really care enough about anything happening right now to blast off. What to do, what to do?
I guess the economy sucks. (We're all pretty much in the same boat there. I can't really say anything you haven't heard 100 times already.)
I'm glad we have a new president. (Who isn't?)
Some woman got her face ripped off by a chimpanzee her friend was sleeping with. (WTF? How do I top that?)
In the last year we lost both George Carlin and Bernie Mac. That sucks. (But I can't really rant about random deaths, can I?)
I got a haircut. It looks okay. (Nah, even I can't figure out anything pithy to write on that topic.)
I give up. Maybe I just wasn't cut out for this blog thing. Hell, I'll probably forget I even have a blog by next week.
See you in April...?

Welcome to... ME!
Welcome everyone, to Radoric's Random Thoughts. I'll be posting here occasionally, to spew forth whatever happens to be oozing its way out of the deep recesses of my mind. It might be funny, or personal, or just mindless blather. Whatever it is, I know I'll enjoy it.
